in france, the first champagne was created accidentally and the pressure that the bottles created led it to be called the devil's wine (le vin du diable). i learned this last night at susanne & darren's black tie vintage champagne tasting.

pressure, exploding bottles and reference to the devil seemed to be the perfect title for me. more on that to come...
